I don’t think that he final scene of The Graduate showed any remorse at all. I think that their initial giddiness calmed as they moved forward together, what they both wanted, instead of what all the parents and society had tried to cram them into. That jibes with what made the movie the voice of the generation.

And it’s sunrise, and the bird is just waking up, more clues and cues. She might be talking about learning what makes an early bird- coffee!

I’d say, with his binoculars & her with note pad, they are bird watchers, & his big smile says its a rare bird. No need to write in dialog, Len knew we’d figure she’s saying something like “it’s definitely an Early Bird”.

I think that the guy talking in the 1st panel, in the blue car, was the contortionist. He caused the dent. When he saw Dilbert approach his car, the dweeb turned himself into the injured victim.
