It’s interesting that Penelope and Javier’s future baaby would be called an anchor baby.
If they decide to have their baby in the US, it will be a legal citizen, since they are here legally.
Babies born to illegal aliens are not citizens according to the same law that will make Penelope and Javier’s baby a naturalized citizen.
The birth of a naturalized baby does not give any special rights to the parents. They can have their Visas revoked by the government at any time it is deemed necessary. The child, if old enough to make the decision, will have the option of leaving with it’s parents and returning later, or staying.
There has been talk of changing the law so that babies born to foreigners won’t automatically become citizens, unless the parents are here on a permanent Visa.
