commented on Calvin and Hobbes

“Alas! How dreary would be the world if there was no Santa Claus!… There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence.”
FRANCIS P. CHURCH, New York Sun, Sep. 21, 1897
throw again the other shoe and jump on the opposite direction!

haha! the pharaoh is obviously building a pyramid out of you!
Good boy Calvin!
Really smart there bringing down your mom’s expectations–
then suddenly shine with a good deed!
Calvin’s mom did the classic thing.
The most effective way to annoy someone without subjecting yourself into emotional overdrive:
Pretend you are listening, agree on everything and do nothing.
“A principle is the expression of perfection, and as imperfect beings like us cannot practise perfection, we devise every moment limits of its compromise in practice.”
I wonder how’d calvin prepared if his dad answered he was wrong…
I bet it could’ve been another one of his memorable punchline!
For Hobbes whose loyalty is in question, remember this:
“He who does not feel his friends to be world of him, does not deserve the world should hear of him” –Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832), German Playwright
Why you asked Calvin? Several schools of thought suggested:
Ancestral animals (usually dogs), to knockdown and flatten the grass, to check territory and to quickly assess overall safety, they turn around 3 times before lying down.
