    Yep, I remember the distinction when the USMC reassigned my dad to work with the Reservists in Boise. Even the kids in fourth grade made fun of you if you didn’t conform to their peculiar pronunciation.

    But learning to fit in like a native probably saved my life.

    The irony is funny itself. As for the joke… watching the series during its initial run we never noticed the over-acting, but boy oh boy is it evident today. Great comic!
