Are you saying that genetics is nonsense? You actually are correct in the science of what you say, although the stuff about Neanderthals and Denisovans is still a little speculative. As for race, it is more than a social construct. Look at the diversity of human beings. A analyze the DNA of a person of non-mixed race, and you can tell pretty easily where there ancestors came from. That’s all race is. Social constructs change from culture to culture. Race does not. You can’t change your DNA (yet).

Nationality is not an indicator of race, whatever standards are used to define it. Race is an imprecise term at best, and useless in some contexts. But it is impossible to say the concept has no meaning or is simply a “social construct”. Try a thought experiment. Put together a group of 50 people consisting of 10 people each from the following groups: black sub-Sharan Africans, American Indians, East Asians, native Australians, and white Europeans. Then pick a group of people at random over time and space, from different cultures, to group these people according to type. Every judge would agree on the groupings, regardless of background. Race today is largely a matter of genetic heritage: who are your ancestors and where did they come from. There are 5.

Some good comment here. The futility and inherent unworkability of a “no-fly” list has been noted, as well as the need to have due process before anybody is denied their rights. However, it may not be apparent that an underlying issue here is government incompetence.

There are legitimate arguments about the very nature of human “intelligence” and how you go about measuring evaluating it. IQ tests are still somewhat culturally and racially biased, and there may be no way to completely eliminate that bias. But if something like 85% of the world population is below 100 IQ, this explains certain kinds (only certain kinds) of turmoil in the world. There is also some suspicion that the average IQ of the world is deteriorating as dumb people tend to reproduce more (theoretically). We are still not sure how human evolution and genetics works with civilization. 20 or 30 thousand years ago the small bands and clans of humans with the smartest individuals would tend to survive and expand more successfully. Smart genes were a plus. Inventions and innovations spread slowly. Now, the dumbest person in the world benefits from the genius of someone clear around the globe. And our braincase (a rough indicator of intelligence) may be shrinking according to the archaeological record, although this is speculative at present.

There are some technical reasons why Pluto cannot be classified a planet, but the main reason is common sense. Pluto is a small ice ball, and we can’t go naming every small ice ball in orbit around the Sun a planet.
