“…All are thrilled when a decent man…” I think you raise a perspective of needs and thoughts that should be thought through and appreciated. I haven’t walked a mile in those shoes, that’s true. And maybe we’re not giving credit to Gunth for the guy he is. Not gay certainly, but obviously very sensitive, expressive, and very needy. It would be a fair question to ask what does Rosa see in him at their ages. Women appreciating “nice guys”, not to mention guys pretty immature, needy and insecure, are usually older, more mature. As a nice guy, he’s very needy and insecure, even more than we thought. Maybe Quill, the nice guy that is not needy or insecure will model that confidence for him this “year.” But the Luann conflict may take Greg’s center stage.

It’s just that these situations seem contrived. But its just a comic strip, let’s all have fun.
I’m going to have to side with you completely on this one. Are we in some bizarro universe? Isn’t this the first time Gunther has been more excited than anxious about anything, even Rosa?
Making a nice salsa are we?
In Frank’s mind: Luann marries Q and moves to A. Those tickets cost a bundle. See ya once a year, maybe. Bye Bye Mrs. Quill.
@overtherainbow on “Aunt Harriett” Thanks for the nice story and tie in. Enjoyed. I always enjoyed Sunday morning puzzles on NPR.
Some of those immigrants work tirelessly at needed jobs, join the military, pay taxes, stimulate the economy, and raise kids (US citizens) that do go to college and contribute to all that is America. Not a political statement statement here, just saying if generalizations are to be thrown out, there are other view points that people could raise and should see.
“best loser” If Gunther lets Rosa go all over Luann, then he becomes a real loser. Gunther has the abilities to go with Rosa to far away places and do his creative, designing thing. Let Luann stay home and teach elementary school with her evident and needed gifts.
Retired also but now wife’s office manager. Good news I get to run around a bit, work in the yard, visit parents, and read Luann more!
Ok. Tif has been sloppy in dealing with the kids. She over promised and under delivered. All she had to do is tell the kids they’d be helping with a big boy/girl dance and they’d have loved it. Re: “kids just don’t want to be bored.” Tif’s fundamental insecurities, probably from a rough home life, leads her to always offer something, as she believes people only do things to get something. Luann is trying to show her, but tiff will need a larger lesson than this. Tiffs reaction here will be to get frustrated (since she can’t understand) and walk away (quit). But probably not before grabbing the decorations. Will we always have tiffs fundamental problems rubbed in our faces like she’s pure evil and inredeemable. This parody will run its course, lapsing from funny to sad to entirely predictable (ok it’s already there). Personally, I’m ready for a surprise.
