interesting recent case – flat panel TVs made by VIZIO had backlit screens. the problem was that the screens could not be repaired IF the light died. They seemed to almost always have a lifetime that exceeded the warranty by a month or 2. I’m not positive but I think they changed something when Costco started seeing returns and complaining to VIZIO

All I have to say is this quote from J GOEBBELS,
    Reichsminister for Propaganda (3rd Reich)

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

the time between launch code received and initiate launch is about 5 minutes – most of that is opening the safes for the launch keys. once the keys are turned, and the xmas tree lights up, the squadron is fully on the way in 3 minutes. with a delay of about 8 seconds between individual launches. the only delays would be in changing target info.
