    If you think waiting at the P.O. takes a long time, just try your local Social Security office — at least here in the big city where I live. A 5-minute transaction can take 2.5 hours’ waiting!!

    @d_johns13 — recent news articles have reported that because their eyes are glued to glass screens, preventing their practicing in-person human interaction, a whole generation of younger adults is having trouble making eye contact and interacting well enough to do work dealing with the public, so you are RIGHT.

    It was hard to tell, but the letters that LOOK like B-L-L in the third frame are B-E-E.

    I had to look up the Spanish “apiaria” to figure it out!

    @TexTech — I’ve belonged to a big-city knitting guild with many men who knit; and I’d think cartoonists could observe, even if they don’t knit.

    I have been knitting — and a member of knitting groups — for nearly 60 years, and have NEVER seen a knitter hold the needles upside down while knitting like this character is doing.

    The worst nightmare that merger would have been to me is what it would have done to the wait time for telephone support. Second-worst — what it would have done to the “quality” of support (which is pretty awful already).
