    It’s the reference to “Heck,” a polite euphemism for that other Infernal Place, that brings up the hellish glow; also, those lost socks go straight to Hades, where the Spirits of the Dead wear them till they’re full of holes.

    Beautiful comic art here! I love the hardware details: drawer pulls, hinges, keyhole. . . . Darby has clearly done well to take a vacation; this strip is fully recharged. Hope he stays fresh & new with us for a while, now. Satch’s last text bubble, too: that “thinking” could work for Particle Physics!
