I wonder how many people are using a computer or phone that contains plastic to read this strip and comment on it. Or have any plastics in their home. Or drive a vehicle or fly, or take a train?
My daughter (Masters in Environmental Engineering) actually works for Exxon Mobil. There are always Environmental Engineers on staff 24/7 to respond to and notify the government of any releases. Petrochemical companies work very hard these days to follow all environmental regulations and also to invent and create new ways of doing things cleaner and safer. Oil companies are currently working on ways to treat and purify the salty underground water that is naturally mixed in with oil and gas to turn it into fresh water. That is what so called ‘waste’ water is. It was already underground with the oil and gas. It is removed and put back underground, just deeper (farther away from fresh underground water) than it was before.

The US would need 7.2 million acres of solar panels which would take over 900 years to build. And who are you going to get to clean them to keep them operating at peak efficiency? And how much water will that take?
