I think I first heard of Pokemon Go less than 2 weeks ago. I now know more than I ever want to know about it, and see people talking about it all the time. It is harder to avoid than politics.

And how is he going to get the DM on his dead phone?

A week ago, I had never heard of Pokemon Go. Now, everyone is talking about it. It’s just another phenomenon to avoid for me.

My wife’s iPad 2 had 3g. We only activated it for one month a year. Her new iPad Pro is WiFi only. My iPhone rarely uses LTE, because we are rarely away from WiFi. We can tether her iPod or my laptop to the iPhone if we really need net access where there is no WiFi.

A phone that old is probably analog. That service got cut off so the frequencies could be reused for digital. He may have a very hard time reactivating it.

Maybe they just bought the wrong size. I find them brighter than CFLs of the same rating.

We had refrigerators as far back as I can remember, but we had neighbors that still had ice boxes with daily ice delivery. The ice plant was just a block or so from where I lived, so on a hot summer day, I would go watch them make ice. The filled huge containers with city water, and put them in refrigerated salt water to freeze. Then they took them out and dipped them in warm water long enough that they could dump the blocks of ice out on a slide that took them into the freezer room where they were stored and cut up for delivery. The molds were handled by an electric overhead winch that ran on a beam that was in tern running on tracks, so they could reach any part of the floor. The salt water was under the floor, and covered with floor panels much like a raised floor in a computer room today.

We had lots of noise from the first to the fourth, but it didn’t go past midnight for the most part, and has been quiet since the fifth. It actually seems better since they became legal in town for 10 days, ending the fourth.

In Nebraska, there are no sales on the 5th. They pack up what’s left to send back and start taking down the tents. The big closeout sales are on the 4th.

This guy clearly talks like a New Jersey resident.
