My daughter is an elementary school librarian. When she read the story “Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type” to her 2nd graders she asked to borrow her mother’s 1960s college typewriter to explain the story to the kids. Google the title if you are not familiar with it. Cute story.

Part of my first-day-of-school instructions to my third graders went: “Sometimes a person’s body makes noises from one end or the other that can’t be controlled. When that happens in this class the person it happens to will quietly say, “Excuse me” and everyone else will pretend IT DIDN’T HAPPEN.” After the initial giggles, only occasional reminders of that rule were necessary to promote classroom tranquility.

The cookie dough in ice cream is specially made without eggs and therefore would not bake into good cookies.
