‘the reason that all but one of the city council and all of the school board in ferguson are white is because very few blacks bothered to vote. i think their turnout was around 6%.’

That is correct. So far I have not seen any explanation of why the Black turnout was so low. New York City has off-year elections, but they get 25-50% of the registered voters. It could be a class thing — the poorer people are, the less they vote, and in most parts of the US, race codes for class.

Well, there’s such a thing as less than nothing. We have a conservative party and a reactionary party, which doesn’t leave the dissatisfied a lot to choose between.

Quentin — who is really the Demiurge — is manipulating everything from behind the scenes. Couldn’t you tell?

I wonder what would happen if TR used a ‘3’ instead of ‘III’. I guess they’d append it to the name and try to pronounce it: RALL3. But how? ‘3’ could be an ‘E’ or a ‘Z’ or part of a ‘B’. All at once, maybe?

As a senator, Clinton had the power to find out what was true and act on it. Regardless, it was pretty obvious that the war party was pushing a pack of ies. Half a million people got out on the streets of New York City to protest the oncoming war. She chose to go along with it. That is not going to be overlooked.

The potato salad man is providing light, gentle entertainment for people of modest intellectual achievements who want to get in on hipness and irony but have trouble figuring out how. ‘Heh, heh, I gave two dollars to a guy making potato salad.’ It’s sort of Seinfeldian.

    Next: a topknot machine.

It’s kind of an odd decision given the partisan cast of the Supreme Court. Allowing anti-abortion protesters to do just about anything they want in front of an abortion clinic will lead to physical conflict and get people excited about abortion and other reproductive rights. The people who get excited will tend to vote Democratic, especially young single women, who already vote 2-1 or 3-1 for Democrats. The net result is that the chances of the Democrats this year and in 2016 will be enhanced. On the other hand, the more the Democrats are likely to win, the further Right the leadership will move. So maybe it’s a class thing, rather than a party thing.
