As a senator, Clinton had the power to find out what was true and act on it. Regardless, it was pretty obvious that the war party was pushing a pack of ies. Half a million people got out on the streets of New York City to protest the oncoming war. She chose to go along with it. That is not going to be overlooked.

That’s what I do, being self-employed. Fire your boss.

The potato salad man is providing light, gentle entertainment for people of modest intellectual achievements who want to get in on hipness and irony but have trouble figuring out how. ‘Heh, heh, I gave two dollars to a guy making potato salad.’ It’s sort of Seinfeldian.

    Next: a topknot machine.

It’s kind of an odd decision given the partisan cast of the Supreme Court. Allowing anti-abortion protesters to do just about anything they want in front of an abortion clinic will lead to physical conflict and get people excited about abortion and other reproductive rights. The people who get excited will tend to vote Democratic, especially young single women, who already vote 2-1 or 3-1 for Democrats. The net result is that the chances of the Democrats this year and in 2016 will be enhanced. On the other hand, the more the Democrats are likely to win, the further Right the leadership will move. So maybe it’s a class thing, rather than a party thing.

The most general form is, ‘Believe in exactly the same fables I do, or I’ll kill you.’

The writers of the 2nd Amendment did, in fact, state that the people were to have the right to keep and bear arms. The preceding clause is not grammatically restrictive; it just gives a reason for the main clause. However, the authors may not have intended the modern meaning; note that in the late 18th century, as demonstrated by the preamble of the Constitution and the political facts of the time, ‘the people’ meant ‘White men with a certain amount of property’, not ‘everybody’.

‘Bush’ is also an adjective, as in ‘bush league’, and meaning in general ‘from rural areas; uninformed; inept; second-rate.’

Don’t worry. Mother Nature will clean up the mess, and take care of everything.

The circus, a social form for which Americans seem to have a special talent, began almost immediately and was at full speed within a few days. This memorial is just the latest phase. It’s clearly directed at sucker tourists rather than New Yorkers, one more thing to check off the list.

The ‘Ground Zero Mosque’ seems to have been much ado about nothing, a temporary excitement for racists and bigots. Part of the circus, really. There has been a mosque near the site of the World Trade Center from long before 9/11, just as there are churches, synagogues, and sites for a variety of other religious practices. People who find this fact offensive need to get the First Amendment changed.

Thank Dog someone is savage enough to deal adequately with this obscene, poisonous circus.
