Wally must feel as I do … it’s a damned comic strip. These guys stumble and bumble in the name of “topical, teen-oriented issues” all the time, and this has been the worst, by far. Drunk driving’s bad. Innocent people die. We all get it. (And I assure you I am not making light of that.) But let’s not kid ourselves. It’s long been the consensus here that kids don’t actually read Gil Thorp … it’s too staid and lame. Similarly, I’d wager the median age in this crowd is 50 (and I’m a good bit over that). Bottom line, I can find plenty of horrible decisions and sorrow anywhere I choose to look. I don’t need it here. C’mon, Wally, let’s go.
P3 – yep, nailed it
You guys are a quite lovely group, and reading these GT comments is oft the highlight of my day, but they may well have lost me with this one
So … Rubin and Whigham will give us their version of a town and a student body dealing with grief, with a side order of don’t-drink-and-drive thrown in for good measure … dammit, this ticks me off … and this comes from a guy whose avatar is a drunk
Damn, just how poorly lit IS this part of town??
If they’re on the ball, they’d also check the switch (since Del’s car’s lights apparently aren’t automatic) … and if Del’s too bombed to realize his lights weren’t on, I can’t imagine he’d think to turn them on after the fact
Okay, a (presumed) story line that’s really ticking me off, and these guys are going above and beyond in dragging it out ….
Yeah, good one, MUT!
Hey! It’s Enrico Palazzo!
… and — voila! — weeks have passed
Ah HA !!
