To get the salt to stick, spritz very lightly with a little olive oil such as the Pam variety or, better yet, use a little olive oil in a hand spritzer bottle. Or spritz on a little drawn butter… Actually, my homegrown popcorn has a delicious flavor of its own, not like the store-bought stuff. Any good seed catalog has “Japanese Hull-less” and other open-pollinated varieties. I agree that the hybrids have little if any taste. God only knows what species is in micro-waved packets.

You folks obviously have never tasted homegrown popcorn. It is very easy to grow, even in a pot I suspect. I plant a small packet of popcorn seeds in my organic garden and get about a bushel of popcorn (on the ears). Let it dry until about Christmas and pop however you wish. I use hot air popper and add no grease of any sort and just a tiny bit of finely-ground sea salt. Or, for real fun, just pop an ear (cobb and all) in a brown paper bag and put in the microwave for 3-4 minutes. The popcorn pops right off the ear! Yum, yum!

Maybe if we made the only sex allowable same sex, there’d be no fetuses…

Anybody who doesn’t love cilantro is just proving they have no sense of what’s good! I grow it in my garden every year and make the world’s best salsa. Here’s the recipe:

Big pile of Roma tomatoes (must be Roma)—chopped.
Even bigger pile of fresh cilantro—chopped.
    Small pile of green onions-diced.
    Nice hot jalapeno pepper, fresh—diced.
    Tiny bit of sugar.
    Pinch of salt.
Gurgle or two of Italian olive oil (must be Italian)
Enough rice vinegar to get it all good and soaked!

    Yum, yum!!

Well, guys, consider this: More than 50,000 young Americans dead, four times that many wounded and permanently scarred, our nation ruined and, just a few days ago I bought some new underwear at WalMart that were made in, of all places, Vietnam. So who’s the winner here? The mighty Americans who ruined our own country or the mighty victors who are now in sweatshops sewing our underwear?
