I guess this ties in with the Pink all the girls wear on their butts. Just trying to get everyone to look there. Then they complain….

Neither. This was in an era when kids were allowed to walk to school! Amazing, no? People get into trouble these days if they let their kids walk to school.

I’m pretty sure here, the teachers told all the kids school was out. The joy in their voices would be distinct and probably the only time you’d hear it.

I’m not sure what kinda nurse they have here, but in our area, they hire RNs who just wanna slow down after years of doing hard work. So they know quite a lot.

UTC and GMT have been interchangeable for the last 4 decades, to my knowledge, and have used them both. Sorta like tomato and tomato.

I do have these sort of conversations, but they’re one sided. I think most people don’t care. September was the 7th month, October the 8th, November the 9th, and December the 10th. If you know any Latin or any Latin based language, you can see the base word for the numbers right in the month names.

I started reading ebooks back in the very late 90s. They’ve come a long ways since the. Real e-readers can be used in the bright sun with no issues. If it’s just a tablet, then there’s a problem. I still have my books from back then, even though the format is now defunct. I just converted it. I read my books on various items including my PC, tablet, phone, and e-reader. I can stuff a book on my phone and read anywhere, because I always have it with me.

I live in Maine where paper mills are closing left and right. One just closed in my town not long ago. Life goes on, though. People lost their jobs, but they moved on. Why can’t everyone else just move on, too?

The cave is great again, because he is the only one in it, and everyone else is walled out.

I listened to a lot of 80s music and 90s while in high school, college and beyond. Most of it I now consider garbage. (not Garbage, but there was some of that, too). I listen to very very little of it now. There is a LOT of music out there and I think many people limit themselves to what’s on the radio (which is horrible). I never did that back then and I still don’t do it. There is some really awesome music out there right now, put out in the last decade. You just have to have a desire to find it, instead of condemning something that’s not part of your generation.

The people that discovered the first major deposit of graphite thought it was lead. As it spread around and people used it, they all called it lead, even in different languages. It preservers today because people are stupid. They never contained lead.
