I’ve had a lot of dogs over the years and I never had one get sick on chocolate. Daniel loved malted milk balls. Others had their own personal preferences but if given judiciously and not allowing overindulgence, there was no problem.

Actually, come to think of it, probably I have had occasion to get sick on chocolate far more than my poochies. Of course there is where the occasional overindulgence comes in, with me.

Maybe we should just say that chocolate can be bad for people too. And for the same reason….too much of a good thing.

Oh, but puppy kisses are the sweetest!

    That and puppybreath too.

By the way, how does one change their online name? I think I read that maybe Runs With Nog did, and I have been trying to figure out how he did it.

I’m just trying to learn all this advanced computer stuff. Well, for me it’s advanced. The kids know how to do just about everything but I don’t have one available to me and I am the most computer literate of my somewhat advanced age group.

Yeah, I still fondly remember dial phones and having to adjust the vertical and horizontal knobs on my TV. And do you remember adjusting the color and trying to get rid of “snow”? And ‘rabbit ears”?

So how does one change their on line name? I had no idea you could do that once you had an online name. Surprising.

Hooray for Brian…and Red and Rover! The one thing I really hate about Christmas traditions is the chopping down of so many beautiful trees only to decorate a home for a few days and then be discarded as trash out into an alley or some such place. Just thrown away. What a waste! It makes my heart sad even to think about it.

@Michael McMillan, I feel so bad for you. I know it’s probably difficult for you to be the only one who is NOT one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in your family, but think how painful it is for your family not to have you solidly beside them. I know their hearts are breaking and they pray for you constantly.

How do I know that? I’m one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and my brother whom I love with my whoe heart has chosen not to be. I really cry when I pray and ask Jehovah to give him a heart that will permit him to join the rest of us and really be a part of our spiritual family as well as a much loved part of our natural family.

May Jehovah bless you Michael and your family as well.

Ummm, not really @Running On Empty. My dogs have always been very restrained in what they ate. Of course they always had a better, more varied diet than most.

Most canned dog food didn’t tempt them. Most kibble caused them to simply walk away. Except for a couple of brands that they thought were OK.

Most days I bought a roasted chicken, boned half of it and split it between them. That was dinner. Breakfast was generally two eggs with either chicken or some left over ham or beef, scrambled.

By the way, they were big dogs, one was 105 pounds and the other 80 pounds. They lived long, happy lives.

I can relate! My dogs were always a #1 concern for me and I loved getting them presnts and toys…whatever.

And they were always happy to receive whatever I brought them.

Ahhh, I miss them so much. They passed away this past year at 13 and 14 years of age.

My dogs have always eaten cat food whenever they had the chance. Never any problems though.

On the other hand, my cats have always turned their noses up at dog food.
