It’s okay. The helmets on the river are made of the very same plastic. It’s bombproof.

I downloaded that ‘cartoonist’ app. That’s how I produce The Buckets. Hmm. Now that I think about it… a cartooning app sounds like fun. I should invent that.

I’m sure this will turn out the way most bands do, and they’ll all be rich and famous in a few days, right?

Glad you’re here. Red & Rover is good company to be in.

Ah! wonderful. I’ll take the fact that I dragged you into Hubris as a triumph. Glad you’re reading. Hope you’ll enjoy the new story arc. I’m ’bout to throw Mr. Burgess Smythe-Cholera off the deep end.

Yep, that sounds like the state of things these days. So tell me… Where do “traditional comics” like The Buckets and web-fare like Hubris stand with you? Am I doing a satisfactory job?

I honestly appreciate the feedback, y’know.

Probably an ego thing. I’m a cartoonist, after all.

When I told her that ‘Ziggy’ the comic strip was NOT the origin of the name ‘Ziggy’, and that some of Sigmund Freud confidants supposedly called him ‘Ziggy’ as a diminutive of his first name, she was a little taken aback. It had never occurred to her that the name predated the cartoon.

I had an advertising client once who swore she thought of the name ‘Ziggy’ as a young girl. She went on to tell me that she’d thought of another fantastic comic strip character name, and wanted to know what it was worth. I started to say that she’d have to draw up some strips and send them to the syndicates… and she interrupted to say that she just wanted to sell the name to a cartoonist so she could put her daughter through college. The explanation about why that wasn’t going to work went on a ways. She never did say what the name was, for fear I’d ‘steal’ it.

Yeek. Do I have to start watching The Simpsons again?

Again today- the cartoon is pretty much a transcript from life. The conversations you have while out on a unicycle are very entertaining… and very revealing about either our society or human behavior in general. I’d need to ride around in some other societies to find out, I suppose.
