    Sounds familiar. Sick for a couple of Halloweens and most major snow storms when I was a kid. Nothing worse than school being closed for snow when you’re already sick and can’t go out and enjoy.

    I wash most of my clothes (not socks) inside out. I still hang things out on a clothesline when it’s nice. I think it stems from my grandmother. In her day, you washed and hung clothes inside out so the sun didn’t fade the right side so much. She was born in 1898 and didn’t have such luxuries as a washer and dryer.

    I packed some pajamas and a sleeve of Fig Newtons in my little suitcase (I must have been 4 or 5). Got as far as the front porch (Mom held the door) said, “I don’t want to go” and started crying. She let me back in.
