    The quote from “Battlestar Galactica” was in turn borrowed from the opening of the 1953 Disney version of “Peter Pan.” (I don’t think it appeared in earlier versions, but wouldn’t swear to it.) Ecclesiastes 1:9 may have been recalled by the Disney writers.

    He IS being an optimist—there are already TOO MANY HOURS of daylight. The PESSIMISTIC outlook on a beautiful spring morning is the recognition that refreshing spring weather all too soon transitions to months of weather that is MUCH TOO HOT.
