The “nobody likes me” thing was never really true in this strip – Linus was always friendly with him, and the kids wouldn’t play baseball with him if they didn’t like him at least a little bit. The only overtly hostile character (towards Charlie) was Lucy, who Schulz biographers tend to believe symbolized his first wife.

Schulz got it right about that “god complex” that doctors have. Nothing much has changed about that in all the years since this strip was drawn.

One of the sad things about their practices is, that many of their viewers think everything Fox says MUST be true, or they wouldn’t be allowed to say it. Also, they tend to love any lie that fits their prejudices.

I’m surprised they bothered to re-use this one. It’s probably the most dated and insignificant one that could have been used.
