That could be the official motto of Dallas, Texas.

Front seat is always a bad idea for dogs. If the airbag goes off, the dog will literally lose its head, which used to happen to babies that people put in the front seat. I hope dog owners know the risk.

I love this strip! I’d do that too, if it wouldn’t cause the police to come to my door.

Pretty depressing thoughts from someone who’s probably richer and happier overall than 99.9999% of the human race. However, I wouldn’t disagree with this strip, except for the drinking part. Hey Stephan, ever read Mark Twain’s “The Five Boons of Life”?

Sadly, you’re right about kids knowing the dangers. They also know about the dangers of alcohol and other drugs, STDs, pregnancy, etc., but it still doesn’t stop a certain percentage of them from thinking they’re bulletproof. The human race is far too stupid to stop these self-destructive behaviors completely.

I don’t think the Elly strips are supposed to be written by Rat. Rat does the “Danny Donkey” stories. I’ve noticed that the Elly stories have a consistent theme that women are usually better off alone than with a man. Unusually honest of the author to admit that, since he is a man.

I remember 1978. High inflation, high interest rates, high gas prices and “gas shortage.” I hated disco music, too. Only thing good about 1978 was Affirmed winning the Triple Crown.

Not funny; actually, kind of pathetic.

There’s been a problem with high school kids trick-or-treating in my area for many years now. People should have a peephole in their door, and not open it to people who are significantly over 5 feet tall. You never know when it might be an attempt at home invasion. Anyway, teenagers who trick-or-treat (or commit vandalism on Halloween) should be ashamed of themselves.

Since there’s so much money made by corporations in conducting endless wars like this, I don’t think we’ll ever be free of this syndrome. That, and the public that never learns that they’re being manipulated by the military-industrial complex that Eisenhower warned them about.
