There is much to dislike about Trump, but his interest in working cooperatively with Russia versus Islamic terrorism is a positive thing. Clinton’s rejection of this speaks badly of her and should be a cause of concern.

Not bad, but it should have said “1/3 MORE bombast.”

F&F was one botched attempt to stop the flow of guns to Mexico. It was botched in part because ATF didn’t have nearly the resources to do its job, given the free flow of guns in the border area, and the limitations placed on it by Congress. Its ability to audit gun shop records is strictly limited. The gun shops do quite well, thank you, supplying both the drug gangs and the anti-immigrant gun worshippers. And the gun manufacturers do quite well supplying both of them plus the law enforcement authorities.

Mr. Bok’s cartoon is dishonest, to say the least.

Perhaps the nice Texas people will fire the teachers who allowed this to happen? Maybe their legislature can cook up something to keep it from happening again.

I agree with Ms. Benson about 1% of the time (if not less), but this cartoon speaks for me.

Look at Clinton’s recent foreign policy speech, and her history. She is totally invested in having certain nations defined as enemies. Trump at least is a businessman who made his living making deals. There’s much to dislike about him, but I’m not convinced he’ll cause as much suffering as she will.

I agree with those who say that " that this hackneyed story line is well past its sell-by date." But — somehow this scene appears timely again, here in the Age of Trump.

The cartoon is accurate, except that in the 2d frame the family (being white, working class) should have been wearing something with anti-Obama slogans, despite their improved circumstances.

(Also, I’m not sure they look 7 years older in the 2d frame than in the 1st.)

Most interesting is the entity NOT in the cartoon: Iran, still part of the (now-reduced) Axis of Evil. We seem to be willing to finance anyone, even if indirectly, if they are committed to destroying Iran — which probably is closer to us than the Saudis by any morally rational measure.

Somebody screwed up badly: “Cagar” the battery should be “cargar.” Of course. I wonder if this translation is being published simultaneously in Spanish-speaking countries?

Being psycho somes with the territory. Many years ago, someone — I don’t recall who — said that Jimmy Carter was the only modern President that wasn’t criminally insane.
