In my somewhat limited experience, this isn’t true today. Studies over the last 20 or so years into multi-intelligence and similar theories have modified teaching styles so that, if class size is small enough, teachers make efforts to reach their students in different ways. If you keep the class size too large, this becomes impractical.

I say my experience is limited because it mostly comes from one district and one private school. I did serve on our school board for several years and had glimpses into other districts and felt the effort there was similar.

Bullying being a very difficult issue to address, especially since it is now happening on-line and outside the classroom, may also have something to do with it.

Jed is being knotty again. He tied up the hangman’s job and I’m afrayed he can’t handle it.

“The hairball in the sink reminded Laura that she’d never see her dog Pritzi again”. My favorite entry of all time in the Bulwer-Lytton contest. I think it took third.
