This is one of the few strips where you want to take Calvin in your arms (and tell him: Not a chance, particularly not in the US, given the way you deal with Obamacare, treat your veterans, blow sugar up the rear of the rich, let the weak die by the roadside and continue to enact open racism (re Miss USA-tweets)). Come on, flamers!

Holden Caulfield had only three categories: Phonies, morons and perverts. Is having more variety a good thing?

The first take on this, about 40 years ago – when the turtle had sunscreen on – was much better. So was the sound: ‘swisheroo’

Danae usually frightens me (how much I should worry for being frightened by a comic character is beside the point), but today she hits the nail on the head: almost all atrocities in history and almost all acts of stupidity have been and are being committed by (stupid, violent, fanatic) men.

Re. senorbullwinkle’s comment: small reminder from the world: this is not only about (U.S. of) America - whatever you do, the whole world gets it. This goes for Democrats and Republicans alike, though Bush (and the brains behind him) made a particular mess of it.
