Unfortunately fanatics always show up. If it were up to me I wouldn’t accept election results where the popular vote is less than 51% and I would have election upon election until such a quorum is reached. Republicans, ptui.

@sueamarlucan, so if some behave badly it is OK to behave worse then?

Doesn’t indiethink have anything better to do? Does he have a template from which to cut and paste? Geez.

Regardless of the smallpox infested blankets, Geronimo was really treated badly and the Trail of Tears is a shame. The mistreatment of the American native population lasted well into the late 1890’s.

@DLee4144, Too late. With the current Supreme Court in session the fix for a plutocracy is in. (In the absence of spine in Congress, the judicial rules the roost)

Nobody has appointed Google arbiter of the web and masters of its content.
What is needed is search engine neutrality.
Search engines should be considered a utility and as such set up and run in the public interest devoid of exploitation, favoritisms and biases.
Most desirable would be search engine results based on meaningful content not on popularity. This is not after all a beauty contest.
Instead of having robots crawl randomly through the web with their hits and misses, web sites should be regularly submitted by their owners to a Search Engine Authority to be evaluated and ranked for meaningful content and category.
It is paramount that with a few clicks the right information is retrieved devoid of useless crap like ads and suggestions.
This Search Engine Authority need not be a US government agency. A consortium of Universities worldwide could manage it with funds coming from domain name registrations, donations.

@echoraven, Obama is caught between a rock and a hard place. Republicans control the Lower House and the disasters caused by Republican governance (1994-2008) are too huge to correct in a single bound. The financial damage caused by unnecessary wars and tax cuts has weaken America almost irremediably. Those in the world who don’t like America are quick to smell the blood…

W and his clique’s war on Iraq cost America 3 trillion dollars. Over hundred thousand of people were killed and million dispersed. Yet the Republicans are still around. Isn’t the US a great country for those who can afford to spin the most?
