Trump did not make his pile peddling access to policymakers.

I never said that Gates and Buffett have no influence over government. That would be a naive statement. But neither of them are drawing a government paycheck, either: they don’t serve in elected or appointed positions.

Thank you Geezer. You demonstrate at least some people on this board have a command of the nuances of the English language.

All I said was there was a time when the press pretended to be unbiased. I never said there was a Golden Age when they showed no bias.

FACTS are unbiased. If carefully filtered and presented, they can lead to a biased interpretation.

Charity Navigator is unable to assess the quality of the charity using their metrics. Your own quote is not an endorsement of the Clinton Foundation – it merely underlines the fact that even independent organizations that vet charities are unable to figure out what is actually going on in the Clinton Foundation.
    .
If you go to the Clinton Foundation website, you will find their own public documentation on the nature of their charitable works. Most of the money is disbursed to subordinate Clinton charities, the bulk of which don’t seem to be recognized as charities by the IRS. Hey, but Bono gave them a thumbs up, so its all good!

The difference between Gates and Buffett and Clinton is that neither Gates nor Buffett are fronted by a civil servant, and donations to Gates and Buffett don’t buy you access to cabinet officials.

I looked up the Clinton Foundation on Charity Navigator. They are unable to provide an evaluation of the charity. When you go to the Clinton Foundation website and view their ledger sheet, you find almost all their donations go to various subordinate Clinton charities. None of these are rated anywhere either. It’s like playing with a matryoshka doll.
