    Sorry to see the end of FA and FB, FB was the only site I enjoyed enough to check for updates several times a day. I will miss the eclectic posts of art strangeness, nostalgia, all of it, hope Theresa is ok, and wish her all the best in her future endeavors, and if we are lucky we can find her art etc. in another venue in the future.

    it seems the canal barge is referred to as a “narrow boat” and there seems to be a bit of an industry renting them out for holiday, they have them outfitted like american RV’s. All the comforts of home “at a ‘heady’ 4-6 MPH

    Ingsoc is correct – Balustrade is a row of Balusters – often on a balconet (most commonly on a staircase supporting the banister) , though the one in the photo does not feature a balustrade. I would call it rococo style but there is probably a more specific term for the style.

    anyone know the date of the coca cola ad? A quick search dates 5 Cent bottles up to ‘49 but I’m guessing the swastikas make it older than that.
