@ 2old, but not really! So funny. Made me laugh so hard. I was born in 1958 and was junior bridesmaid 2 times in the 70’s. Big hats and rainbow weddings were popular. Then my wedding came along 1987 and black / white weddings were all the rage. This is fun. I know Jan won’t age characters but I’m tired of Max’s baby talk and Luci at 3+ years still being nursed. Jan are you reading???

Personally all this talk about calling Arnold “dad” is wasted space. Of course they won’t be calling him dad. They are grown ladies for heavens sake. My husband’s mom was widowed when my husband was 2 years old. She re-married when he was 17 and we all call him Bill. Regarding the kids, I’m stumped. Grandpa Arnold anyone??

Did Evie really win the lottery? I don’t recall that and I recently went back to the archives and read every strip. Maybe I missed that!

WOW! I wasn’t expecting that. Now I can’t wait for tomorrow’s strip. What does everyone think will happen? I haven’t a clue. (Always thought Val and Phil).

I agree very frustrating that Jan won’t age at least Max and Luci. Come on Jan just a little bit. Holly and Alix are tolerable being the same age for over ten years but tiring of Luci being perpetual infant and Max flailing his arms like crazy.

To ather: I thought she was just yelling “hey, I’m here”. Lucy needed last minute diaper change so she was late.

My same thought “where’s Andy”? The last week’s strip was so boring and I believe done before by Jan about girls tye-dying.

@RWJAMES Holly is so funny! I took Evie’s look as “my you are growing up a bit”, as opposed to “I’m taking you out of my will young lady”. Holly did come up with the First Heart Transplant fact that took place in South Africa a few days ago. It’s good she is mature enough to be included in the mother-daughter conversation. P.S. A couple of days ago a reader wrote that Evie should just stay put helping with the grandkids. I totally disagree. Evie has been their rock a lot more than other grannies. She needs to live her life. She’s fit, active and her still has her wits. She raised her two daughters. When our only child is finally on her own we totally intend to do things we put off because of always putting her first. Call us the, “can’t wait till the 20 year old is on her own” couple.

@corpcasselbury. I totally agree, however we must be prepared for the readers who will reply back at us: “they don’t need to be married, leave things alone already”. That was sent back to me a few weeks ago when I mentioned the same ideas as you.

Andy, Alix and Holly made me smile. But my all time question is WHY doesn’t Phil and Val get engaged? I love this strip, but sometimes get so bored with the material. Yes, yes I know Jan Eliot won’t age the characters, but if she is reading…..please move them along. What material you would have to work with if Max talked, Holly goes to high school and Val gets engaged AND married.
