Okay, here’s my prediction. Moose gets his tryout. He starts throwing the ball at some point and sucks. But Heather approaches him about what he’s doing wrong and starts working with him on the side. Fixes his delivery. By the end of the year he’s all-conference. And speaking of a deliveries, today’s Mopped Up Thorp is delivered right to your screen simply by clicking on the link.

Argh, my brain must have failed me. I thought the line starting near his feet went all the way across the field. Meaning the two lines we see were 5 yards apart. Is it too late for me to delete my original comment and retype it? But you’re right, now it goes the other way. Trying to see over the offensive line will not be possible.

So just how tall is this doofus anyway? Looking at P2, if Moose were to lay down his feet would be at one of those full field yardlines, and his head would be past the next one. Which would make him taller than 15 feet. Seems like playing him at receiver would make more sense, who could cover him? Also, looks like they erased the yardage numbers, hopefully they are planning on repainting them in the correct orientation this time. And speaking of orientation, no need to attend any orientation before visiting Mopped Up Thorp.

Oh great. How am I supposed to make this stupider than it already is?

I remember playing games in my room late at night. For a while I would roll the dice in my hand instead of using the shaker. I then put felt in the bottom of the shaker to make them quiet so everyone didn’t yell at me to quit that damn clanking noise.

Yep, me and my two buddies had bought a bunch of old seasons during APBA’s clearance, and bought some of the best teams of the past. We then had a draft, you drafted any of the teams from the 60’s and 70’s that we had. We each had 8 teams I think, so we had 4 divisions of 6 teams each. Then we had a draft of players from teams that were not picked, so all the teams were fairly loaded. We then played a full season and had playoffs. I wonder if my friend still has the stats from that? We led a sheltered life.

One friend of mine had the computer game version, but nothing better than rolling the dice and looking at the card. Eventually we pretty much had all the results memorized. Let me think, what situation resulted in “single to lift” on the board? I don’t think they ever bothered to fix that typo.

Yes! APBA, me and my friends played that. I actually still have it, was going to show it to my sons and I never did. I’ve got the boards, dice, shakers, cards that came with the set (1970something) plus some older season cards when they had a warehouse clearing sale. Figured I’d put them up on eBay at some point now.

Ha ha, my brother always brings that game up. We had it for a while. Sometimes if you really pressed the lever hard you could get it to shoot the ball way out of the stadium.
