You would prefer people to sniffle and snort, instead?

I love how this strip looks when taken out of context of the story.

So you’re blaming the person who didn’t signal because you didn’t leave sufficient braking room? That’s not how it works.

“Ain’t” is a contraction of “am not.” As such, it is used correctly in the example given (although the double negative is, obviously, incorrect). It may not be often used, but that doesn’t mean it’s wrong.

Well, I’m the one who was sick… The gentleman was polite, but (understandably) distant afterwards :)

Sadly, that actually happened to me on my last date….

My mother was a foster parent specializing in medically fragile infants. As a pale white woman with pale white biological children, having foster children of other races didn’t bother her in the slightest. But the name of one set of neighbors is still a byword in our family for racism. I mean, here’s my mother, doing more good than you can imagine, being yelled at and ostracized by these people for having police at her house at all hours (to drop off babies) and for having the temerity to take care of less fortunate children who sometimes happened to be not pale white.

I’ve got a thousand stories like that, too.

Certainly made my childhood interesting, though, between the example of helping those who need it regardless of race/creed/origin and the reaction she/we would receive from people who had no idea what they were talking about.

How extra amusing, considering how the strip turned out!

Well, this is a disappointing thing to read :( Claire was one of the best comics – funny, true to life, and often thought-provoking. I wish the authors all the best.

Obviuosly, the red is just being started as a new color in the stripe scheme so that the mittens coordinate!

Meanwhile, Charlotte needs to join Ravelry.
