Love it! It reminds me of some conversations I have been in and overheard. I cannot count the number of words that are often misunderstood and misused.

So true. They elevated Charlie Hebdo from a relatively obscure local publication to world fame status. But the loss of those lives was a very painful way to do it.

Chop suey was originated by Chinese cooks who accompanied herders moving cattle from Texas to Dodge City, Kansas. Having little to work with, they just threw a bunch of vegetables and meat together in one pot and called it chop suey, which translates as “odds and ends.”

My daughter, born in 1992, is named Katrina. She was generally well-behaved, but still got a hurricane named after her. She actually got tired of hearing her name in the news everyday. My sister sent us a copy of an article, written by Katrina Vanderhoeven, about the hurricane’s news effects on other girls, named Katrina.

I noted the dolls, too. When my daughter was young, she saw the movie about Pocahontas and specifically asked me to get her a “Pocahontas Barbie.” I found one in a store and she got it. By the way, my Native American ancestry is obvious and she is now grown up and married to a husband, whose father is Native American.

It reminds me of some conversations, I have been in on. It helps to value them more for entertainment than truth.
