Umm, that’s not a power cord if it’s a desktop, and pulling the power cord on a laptop will merely switch to battery power. It’s like taking hostages with a squirt gun.

The best was back in 1988 when Shoe mentioned that Michael Dukakis had a 20-year old snow-blower in his garage. And Cosmo said “Why would you keep a piece of office equipment in the garage?”

I used one in my geology classes. Shoe asked him to dig out something, and Cosmo said anything at the bottom of the stack had been turned into shale by that time.

BBear: It’s photoshopped. The wings are off a Viceroy butterfly, a mimic of the Monarch (but yummier, hence the mimicry). A REAL cat would insist on being a Monarch. (The curved bar parallel to the edge of the rear wing is the cue.)

The 1950’s, which a lot of Americans use as the benchmark for “normal,” was the most ABnormal period in history. We were the only intact industrial power after WWII with near total domination of world markets, a ginormous industrial plant and huge pent-up consumer demand. There was enough wealth for corporations to get fat, unions to have generous contracts and families to buy a home on a single salary. Did anyone really think high wages for unskilled labor could endure indefinitely? (Yes)

And the plural of spouse is spice? And they’re all wearing fashionable blice?
