I think Carson is my favorite Sierra pass. But the problem with fall in the west is you only have yellow. Two years ago we took a fall trip around Lake Superior and had only birches and aspens (yellow) most of the way. It wasn’t until we got to the east end of the lake that we had the red maples.

No, but it slowed down getting at the ammo, plus the idiot in charge insisted people line up to get it.

Not funny. A guy bungee jumped off a bridge and didn’t factor in the stretch of the rope when measuring it. Predictable outcome.

What you got there is your basic “backronym,” where you make up an explanation for a word. Like “posh” meaning “Port out, starboard home.” “Golf” goes back to the 1500’s and probably derives from an old word meaning a club.

We had a cat that was the world’s most incompetent mouser. She chased a mouse under the basement door once. Then she ran around to the other side of the stairwell to wait for it.

Our two Poms have caught at least three mice under the snow, making them better cats than most of the cats we’ve had.

The reference is to “Moonraker.” One of the most reviled Bond films, although I saw “Octopussy” not long ago and it makes “Moonraker” look like “Citizen Kane.” It’ the film where Bond dresses up as a circus clown AND in a gorilla suit.
