Rifles account for 3% of murders in the US.

The most common murder weapon is a .22 caliber handgun.

Both statistics are from the FBI.

Assault is a behavior, not a rifle.

No automatic rifles are sold without special licensing and investigations taking up to a year. Automatic weapons are very rare in civilian hands.

The weapons referred to as “assault rifles” are semi-automatic and require a trigger pull for each round fired.

They are good for target practice, coyotes and small critters.

The debate on the size and scope of the federal government is about its’ role in peoples lives.
Local government provides emergency help and policing. The school board is also local and should stay local. There should be no federal Department of Education trying to tell a rural Wyoming county school what to do.
What the TEA (Taxed Enough Already) party, Libertarians and conservatives in general want to do is restrict the size of the federal government and return those powers not granted in the Constitution to the States. You know, like the Tenth Amendment states. Democrats, the party of mob rule, wants a one size fits all template that doesn’t fit anyone imposed on everyone.

    That’s the difference.

I live in Northeastern Kansas, in a beautiful area called “The Glacial Hills”, an area of large, rolling hills along the West Bank of the Missouri River. These hills were deposited by the glacier that carved the Missouri River valley..

Where’s my glacier? It melted 10,000 years ago. Why? Because climates change.

@Night-Gaunt49 You are freaking hilarious!! Watch PMSNBC, you know, that opinion channel that masquerades as a news channel. They lie about everything. So funny! There are none so blind as they who will not see. Fits you to a tee.

reality and accuracy like “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan.”

Yeah, right. And it saves money, too!

@jenifer, I spent 14 years in Asia where I was a minority, cursed at, stared at and treated badly by police, so yes I CAN complain about discrimination because I’ve lived it. I have an AmerAsian son who lives it and isn’t the “right” minority for any race based grants or scholarships.
@SizeofaPea the point of the comment is that no one picks the race they are or their skin color so stop using it as an excuse to do stupid crap and don’t try and tell me I wouldn’t understand. To fulfill MLK’s dream, get an education and be judged by the content of your character.

When called a racist, ask, “Did you pick your parents? Neither did I. Only your actions matter.” Now go be a good citizen.

Most of the injury emergency room visits around here start with “Hey, watch this!” Or “Hold my beer…”

A lot of Korean food recipes use tofu. You might try it slices, sautéed with onions, sesame seeds and sesame oil, then dip into low salt soy sauce with wasabi mixed in.

BTW, “vegetarian” is a Native American word that means “Bad hunter”. With apoligies to Native Americans, vegetarians and the PC police.
