    My sister would occasionally treat her cats and dogs to whipped cream from a can. She’d hold it in the air over their heads and they’d catch it in their mouths.

    Actually, it’s “Starve a cold and you’ll die of fever.” The idea being that you should make sure you stay well nourished when sick.

    Actually, no-one is buried in Grant’s tomb. Grant and his wife are interred in an above-ground vault inside the building.

    The educated knew there was no air in space early in the Nineteenth Century, if not sooner. If for no other reason than that early balloonists tended to run short of air. As well, mountain climbers had long reported the air growing thinner. Both Verne and Wells provided an air supply for their Moon travellers.

    However, even many storytellers who knew better put air in space or simply ignored the vacuum.
