We can learn from Japanese about what not to do. They had “lost decade”, then “lost 20 years”, now it is over 20 and there is still no clear recovery – at least not major one, as they had ups and downs during that time. Following bad economic policies such as stimulus spending, didn’t help the matter any.

We are heading that way too. Between weak economy, out of control Fed, and the increasingly obvious market bubble, I don’t see much hope here either.

Silly Moneysaurus. He wants money and he doesn’t want to do any work? He should’ve gotten government job, or at least something at heavily unionized company.

Again, it is not the money issue. We got tons of money back in 2009-2011 when stimulus was in full swing. It was like giving a drunk a key to wine store. They pushed all kind of projects that have been sitting on backburner. After all, there was finally money to fund them now, they had to be spent.

None of them amounted to much. They were not ready, nobody had given much thought to what and how and why. It was pretty much “we got money, let’s spend it”. I’ve seen more restraint from a teenager with parent’s credit card. Now, money dried up, none of it is working well, none of it really got completed or integrated. I’d say it was 90% wastes.

Only someone on the left can look at problem, see that all efforts to solve it failed and then say with straight face “we should do the same thing we do now, only much more so”.

Truist, as usual, is 100% clueless.

I am a contractor on several VA IT projects, so I see plenty from the inside. VA doesn’t suffer from lack of money, it suffers from inability to spend it and accomplish something useful in the process. The amount of waste on most of those projects is staggering. They go through budgets at astonishing clip without ever pausing to think if anything useful is being accomplished.

And, no, firing will not make any difference. Much like with any government bureaucracy, it has a life of its own and is not really affected by any single person, even the man ostensibly in charge. I can’t even say that any individual I work with is doing a bad job – most of people I work with are competent. It is the overall system that is broken, beyond really any hope of repair.

Ah, yes. It is not about “you” or “I”. It is about where you fit in the collective.

Using word “comrades” was a nice touch.

He was also the last Washington who could not tell a lie. Washington today cannot tell a truth.
