This is a completely ridiculous idea. Everyone knows you spread jelly with a SPOON. :)

Once again, most of this stuff soared over my head as a middle-school kid. Very rewarding to read and understand it now that I’m older.

The remarks that take a few seconds to sink in are truly the best ones.

Calvin always gets some of the best facial expressions in the comic.

Not unless you add negative numbers. But that’s still subtraction.

The Killer Bike story arcs were always some of my favorites.

It’s amazing how many jokes went over my head when I first read Calvin and Hobbes in middle school. This was one of them.

Watterson is slowly introducing the concepts behind the creation of Calvinball. Excellent, excellent pacing.

Not to sound rude, but I personally find it hard to sympathize with Calvin during this story arc, and pretty much any other babysitting and Stupendous Man story arc. Calvin clearly knows better than to act the way he does when Rosalyn’s babysitting, or the way he does when under the guise of Stupendous Man. He did something bad last time Rosalyn was here, and now he has to pay for what he did.

Still love Calvin, and still love the strip, but just because you love someone doesn’t mean you have to like them all the time.
