Yes, and Chipper’s hair was black in his youth, so the brown had to be a surprise for Hoogy.

This isn’t Corky – it’s Chipper. But yes, he is Rover’s uncle and should know Hoogy.

He’s almost 72 because he was born in 1944, but it’s good to see Chipper in the strip again. Now if we could just see Judy, Gideon and Gabriel Grubb, Nubbin Wallet, etc.

Am I the only one who thinks this comic strip has run adrift since the award-winning Mista/Moon Maid story two years ago?

The plots have been weak and uninteresting since then and we haven’t seen enough of some of the more interesting characters, such as Junior, Honeymoon and B.O. Plenty. Then there was the unnecessary addition of another baby to Junior and Sparkle’s family. The baby hasn’t been seen since the birth story and will no doubt be like Murphy Brown’s on TV – after the birth writers nearly totally ignored it because they didn’t know what to do with it.

I know in the old days when Bonnie Braids, Sparkle or Honeymoon was born it created a lot of interest and merchandising opportunities, but neither is the case today – it’s just another example of this strip’s apparently having jumped the shark.

I still love the characters, but until the plots improve I’m out of here. I’m sure many will criticize my statements, but sometimes the truth needs to be told and faced.

I know the poem rhymes, but they should be wishing it for the next 366, as 2016 is a Leap Year.

Is the blonde with the ponytail in the back pew Judy Wallet Grubb? If so, it’s nice that Scancarelli is at least trying to include her a little bit in the strip again.

Wake me when any member of the Dick Tracy cast appears in this strip again. Lately it should be called Orphan Annie.

I’m liking this story a lot. Standish, a talented athlete who obviously comes with some baggage, reminds me of star basketball center Joel Frost, another talented transfer that Gil had to deal with in the 1960s when the great Jack Berrill was writing the strip.

I agree with avenger09 about this strip having jumped the shark. Yes, Gould had his sci-fi moon period, but he never had anyone magically disappear. This seems more like an old Bewitched or I Dream of Jeannie TV episode. I guess we’ll probably see characters from those series in Dick Tracy next.

It’s more than just guests from other strips now, the Orphan Annie regulars have taken over this story. Tracy hasn’t been seen much lately and has had no impact on the story for even longer. This is the weakest ‚ÄúDick Tracy" story that Staton and Curtis have come up with by far. Could someone please notify me when it is over so I can skip it until then and then check back in to see if Staton and Curtis can get the strip back on track?
