    The song MTA was a mayoral election song written in1949 in protest of a fare increase. Made into a hit by the Kingston Trio in 1959

    Tropical chocolate disc, included in C rations, weren’t much better. We thought they could be used for hockey pucks. They were round because they came in cans. The original MREs were terrible(worse than C rations). The newer ones aren’t too bad. BTW in 1980 we were still eating Cs that were canned in the ’40s.
