I think the real Mysta is truly dead, but I am thinking the moon people will take a strong interest in the new Mysta at some point and possibly help her complete her genetic transformation once they understand what has happened to her. Since she has Mysta’s genes, wouldn’t she theoretically be able to develop and express natural lunar powers? As for Governor, he might have mixed feelings at first about how Mysta came into being, but having a chance to have his departed daughter back at least in some way might prove to be an irresistable temptation, which would then become the bridge to bring the moon people back into the story. That’s what I’m hoping at least!!!
I notice there are a whole lot fewer comments today. I don’t mean this as a snipe or criticism, but I think it demonstrates that like it or not, nothing stirs up interest and excitement in this strip more than space fantasy, especially when it has to do with Moon Maid.
YOWSAH!! This is a great development!
There seems to be three opinions about where the SC is going. Either to drift forever, or to crash somewhere, or to end up at the newly relocated moon colony. I am hoping for the last option, but I have the feeling it will be one of the other two.
I’m also a little disappointed Mysta’s not the original, but very happy she’s sticking around. What I’m hoping to see is a story with the moon people!
“and don’t forget, as someone said yesterday. Glenna actually wanted to BE Moon Maid.”.Reading between the lines, I think Diet has implied that Glenna was kidnapped and surgically altered against her will. Kidnap is the word he used yesterday, and why else would he offer to pay for plastic surgery to restore her face unless he believed she was an unwilling subject?
Ha, good one! He would have had the best of all worlds!
“I have to say, though, that you comment about Mysta becoming the “Beautiful and awesome queen of the crime fighters” is disturbing. That is exactly what we traditional Tracy fans don’t want. Unless, as someone else suggested, she goes into her own spin-off strip. A costumed, hot looking young woman running around in a skin-tight outfit blasting crooks with electrical charges is something that belongs over at DC or Marvel – it’s not Dick Tracy.”.I understand you don’t want Mysta in Dick Tracy anymore. That’s your personal opinion and you’re welcome to it. But I take issue with your statement that “it’s not Dick Tracy” to have Moon Maid in the story. Really? It certainly was back in the 1960s! Costume, electricity, zapping criminals, and all! You may not like that, but that doesn’t change that Moon Maid is a significant part of the canon. Even after she died, we’ve still had Honeymoon around. And every time we see Honeymoon’s eyes, we are reminded of who her mother was. I’m sorry but it comes across as very arrogant to say Moon Maid fighting crime is “not Dick Tracy.” You are confusing your opinion with reality.
I’m feeling a little better today about what’s happened. I’m still a little shocked, but reading the comments has helped. The bottom line for me is what somebody else said. We have Moon Maid back. That’s the main thing. I also find myself feeling sorry for her, which I didn’t expect. Mindy may have been a very bad person, but she didn’t deserve to have her life taken away. The two doctors are way more cruel than I ever imagined. They’re murderers really, and I won’t feel bad at all if they end up drifting forever in space. As for Mysta, I hope her lunar DNA is dominant and she transforms completely into a moon woman. Here’s hoping!
I remember the scene of Honeymoon on the Space Coupe. She was sure her mother was still alive and was determined to prove it. How did we get from there to here? It feels like the wool has been pulled out.
