    To also comment on Dean’s remark, part of the reason is due to the elliptical nature of the Earth’s orbit and that the speed of the orbit does increase at the point where the Earth is closest to the Sun. But that’s not the primary reason, it is primarily due to precession. Eventually the wobble will circle around and spring will get longer and summer shorter. Just not in our lifetimes…

    Interesting, I never knew that about spring, but it makes sense. It’s all due to precession (to the earth’s axis wobbling like a top) and the current place in the wobble makes spring lose time to summer and winter lose time to autumn.

    I was at an event this past weekend and a youngling had what appeared to be a modern version. Much smaller body and the picture size was about one half the size of the old Polaroid picture…

    The site says it took 27 hours because they were made by hand. I’m pretty sure that once the marshmallow was formed, that 27 hours was a “cure” time before they added the sugar coating…
