No, I chose my faith because when I called on Jesus to save me. Other faiths had nothing to offer me but foolishness. Jesus changed my life & gave me peace, joy, hope & love that the world could not give me. As for the true stories in the Bible, they are ALL true! It was God who promised Joshua the sun would stop still, he merely believed it. He wrote it that way because the sun APPEARS to move across the sky, even though it is the earth that really moves.

If you would only bother to STUDY the New Testament, as opposed to merely READING it, you would find out that the names & places & events recorded there, are quite accuirate. They have been corrorborated by numerous other sources. For instance, Luke the Physician, who wrote the Gospel of Luke & Acts, has been found to be a highly accurate historian. The names & places he mentioned have all been found to be historically true.

Actually, while I cannot speak for any other Christians here, MY faith is an informed faith. It is based on trust in a God I cannot see, true. But it is also a faith that is supported by clearly observable facts, secular history, arcaeological finds, inscriptions, etc. that confirm the true stories in the Bible!

Asking “Whose filthy, wet, snowy boots were left on the hall floor?” was not a request for information, it was meant to provoke a confession by the culprit. Much like God asked “Where art thou?” in the Garden after Adam & Eve had sinned. God knew good & well where Adam was, but He wanted him to own up to his sin. Once a person confesses. “Yeah, I am the one who did wrong,” he or she is well on their way to being responsible enough not to do it again.

All communists are atheists, by definition! Marx was the one who said that religion is the opiate of the masses. In addition, all communist governments call themselves Socialist, as in “Union Of Soviet Socialist Republics.” Socialism that is enforced by the government upon the people, is nothing more than despotism, as witness Nazi Germany. As far as the Bible is concerned, the only time that the Jews were ruled directly by God, was before the time of the judges. After that, judges ruled in the name of God, some good, some not so good. Same thing with the kings.
