Since when has it been one of Doc Wonmug’s rules that nothing could move through time? In V.T. Hamlin’s strip, Oop routinely went back in time to bring treasure back to finance the lab.

They are very similar but not exact. Look at the grass. Snoopy’s shadow in panel two starts further right then in panel four. The motion lines under Snoopy’s feet and around his ears are different. And of course there is the Schultz signature.

We’re to believe that Oop is in Moo and neither his trusty ax nor Dinny his faithful pet are anywhere to be seen. I don’t think you can find a single strip drawn by Hamlin where this was the case.

    V. T. Hamlin would be spinning in his grave if he saw his creation today.

I like the three panel concept!

There is a good reason why most of the comments are criticisms of the current version of the Alley Oop strip. Anyone is free to make positive comments if they wish. I saw a number of compliments about the artwork just the other day. But for the most part the weakness of the story line is self evident which leads to the well deserved criticism of the Bender’s work.

VT Hamlin must be turning in his grave. Alley Oop was once the strongest, smartest man alive. He traveled through time as a super hero. Now, as APOI said, he’s a shallow doo-fus. This is sooooo sad.

I read the entire Alley Oop strip via newspaperarchive.com. You have to subscribe and search day by day but eventually I read every daily strip.

EarnestT, people don’t hate this strip, they are aware of what the strip was when Hamlin then Grauve wrote Alley Oop. If you read their story lines, you would understand.
