I’m not tiny, but I shop the men’s department for much the same reasons. Not a butch, but I am not one of those prissy type of females. Men’s clothes cover up more skin generally, and no one really wants to see my 55 year old figure. I still shop in the women’s department for a few things, but I’ll look in both sections
    when I’m shopping for myself.

I never went through this as a child, either, even though I wasn’t homeschooled. (Nobody heard about that option way back then.) My mom made all of my clothes. I got to select the pattern & fabric (Mom approved, of course), and Mom would sew it up. She’d made adjustments as I wanted (extra pockets, etc.) I really miss her.

Oh, one of the perks of homeschooling! I never went through this agony.
Long-sleeved t-shirts might be the best solution for Alix.

Lawyer loophole: When pigS fly. Note the plural? Guess they need to find another pig willing to become cannon fodder.

At the age of 54, I finally found out that I have a genetic disorder that explained why I never could climb that rope in gym class. Lipid storage myopathy – google it if you’re interested in learning more.
I was in my late 40’s when I found out the medical reasons why I never did well at running. No wonder I could never get a decent grade in gym class. If I’d known then what I know now, you think a doctor’s note would help my grade?

I always check with my doctor before taking any sort of supplement. No need to waste money for something I don’t need to take.

My husband spent all his vacation time from work last year taking me to the Mayo Clinic.

Our family has never been to Disney World or Land, even though we’ve been in Orlando numerous times. Too expensive! We have gone as a family to places like 6 Flags, Worlds of Fun, Silver Dollar City, where it wasn’t near as expensive to go on rides.
Your kids will appreciate it if you can find fun in everyday activities. When we had a SUV, we often would take the “back roads” (dirt) to our home, if I had time and the roads weren’t muddy. There was a bump where if we were going our usual speed, we could get airborne for a split second. Other than getting the SUV a bit dusty, didn’t cost anything.
Even though I’m the one who reminds them to do their chores, they say I’m fun to be around. Of course, I am the parent that taught them how to shoot rubberbands and fold paper airplanes….
Find a way to have fun, without it being a big expensive thing. Your budget will appreciate it, too. Too many people think you can’t have fun without spending money.

In my younger years, I could never get past panel two. Now that many of my genetic disorders have been diagnosed, I understand why. I never get the “endorphines” (or whatever it is that gives a runner’s high) because my bp and heart rate drop dramatically (and dangerously) low with vigorous exercise. I’ve actually been told by my specialist to only exercise as long as it is comfortable for me, to not do more. I have found when I push myself past the comfortable level, my body suffers for days afterward.

It was funnier when I heard it as “what do you call a dead blond in a closet?”
