@dyankee23 I don’t think librarians gossip about who was where, so “We took a look at the other library across town” should work.

I got there in my head in about a minute, but at this time of the morning I had to check it on a calculator. (Could have checked it on paper, but that means I’d have to find a pen…)

    Quintuple failure? Not such a relief… ;)

Reminds me of the popsicles my Mom and I would make with kool-aid and jell-o. :)

Somehow this reminds me of one of my favorite gags from the Simpsons, where they’re showing a possible home run in the ninth inning. “It’s going, going, going … our technical director today was Stan Kadlubowski!” (Cut to a shot of a guy eating a hot dog in the control room.) “It’s out of here, the ’Topes win!”

I don’t think it’s in the middle, just a combination of odd perspective and shoving the driver’s seat to the front: as you say, for visibility.

Yeah, nobody likes the show-off who adds more ‘fun facts’ to the correct answer.

I took it as just random kid nostalgia, and that the two sentences aren’t necessarily connected as closely as you think. He’s sad about moving away from his room, he associates it with the good dreams he’s had when sleeping there, and wonders who the next kid to live there will be.

All pretty self-explanatory reactions and natural for a 10 year old kid.

My linux/Chromebook doesn’t crash often, but the linux won’t talk to my printer at all, and that’s almost as bad.
