I remembered the title, but had managed to forget the lyrics in the last 23 years. Had to look them up.-This is the day we give babies awayWith a half a pound of teaYou just open the lid, and out pops the kidWith a twelve month guarantee.-This is the day we give babies awayWith a half a pound of teaIf you know any ladies who want any babiesJust send them round to me
“Hate women much?…”
That seems like a rather bizarre non sequitur. Please explain.
Took me a while, but I finally got it.
I’m trying to imagine how the 10 Commandments would have come out if G_d had tweeted then 140 (?) characters at a time. Would we do any better if he had sent them to each of our tablets instead of just sending them down the mountain on stone tablets?
“That’s why on a soap opera a man can be a great-grandfather when he’s around 60!”- -It could happen if you have a child at 20, he or she has one at 20, and then that child has one at 20.
Long ago, I worked with someone who was a great grandmother well before she hit 45! She had her first at 14, her first had her first at 14, and HER first had her first at 15 or 16. Mother at 14, grandmother at about 28, and great grandmother at about 42. The summer I worked with her, I was about 16, and being from what she thought of as “a good family,” she kept reminding me about her youngest daughter, who was then 14. Cute girl, but those were clearly very fertile people in her family, so I kept my distance.
Then there was Captain Penny on channel 5, Cleveland: You can fool all of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool Mom.
When and where did he say that?
“Stay the course,” or “stay home”?-The antiwar movement made a big mistake in alienating returning vets instead of embracing them as a valuable resource (which in turn may have alienated conservatives who might have been persuaded that the war was something they too should oppose). I had an older friend who was active in VVAW, and he always seemed to be taken more seriously than long-haired peace freaks who had never left suburbia or campus. Of course, Jerry was a long-haired peace freak, but he had a different air about him.-I think I’m the same age as Joliet Jake.
Tweets are for twits.
If they are in Woody Creek CO (as was suggested in a previous strip), they won’t be able to make a nickel growing it outdoors (lousy climate for it, above 7000 feet). Will a future strip show them heading back to Walden with tails between legs?
