I find this blather about foreign censorship rather egocentric. Sony should not have trivialized the killing of a real person and national leader. Of course N. Korea is going to protect their leader from harm, in probably the only way they can. Hopefully Hollywood learned something about what is acceptable and what is not when it comes to free speech. This is akin to it being unacceptable free speech to yell fire in a crowded theatre.

Plenty of blame to go around. Primarily, Sony should not be trivializing assassination of any real person. In this age of nuts and fantasy games, it is a short step to some nut with a small grasp of reality thinking it good sport to live out the fantasy on this political leader or some other more accessible political leader. Common sense and discretion make some topics off limits, or if it must be done, change the name and the country to fictional names. Hardly surprising North Korea feels obliged to defend their leader, perhaps in the only way they know how, which does seem to have worked. Sony is going to have to suck it up and admit they were wrong.

You should try composing an original thought. We can all get that propaganda from the FOX News purveyors of Conservative talking points.

We are witnessing a slow evolution to more North American style government. There is now quite a bit of free market capitalism, much of it overlooked and underground. How far the Cubans go in changing government style is up to them not up to the U.S. The U.S. should follow U.N. and International law and lift sanctions and embargoes. What does the U.S. have to fear when Cuba would most likely become a friend, ally, and trading partner, not an enemy? Fifty years of trying to impose U.S. will through isolation has gotten nowhere. Time for progressive changes, not stupidity.

Why does the U.S. get to determine and negotiate how other independent nations live their lives providing they are not a threat to their neighbors?
By violating U.N. resolutions to lift sanctions and embargos, International law, and world opinion, the U.S. is the biggest violator of human rights.

You better make friends with the commies, they’re your biggest banker.

Its always an advantage to be able to trade with your closest neighbor, particularly when its a rich nation. One is the import of some items such as medical supplies not available elsewhere. Two is huge potential for tourism. Three is a ready market for sugar, rum, cigars, nickel, etc. at a lower transportation cost.

America is far from energy independent as about 1/3 of domestic requirements still need to be imported.

Obama has made a start, but the real prize is lifting the embargos. The continuance of embargos defies the U.N. Charter and International law, and are themselves a serious violation of human rights. Lifting the embargos will require congressional approval, but since power, control, and votes are at stake, don’t look for a quick resolution. The U.S. should stop trying to bend other nations to their will and allow Cuba to become the jewel of the Caribbean it could be.

Looks like sanctions are working without firing a shot. The MIC is livid and are looking for new ways to vilify Obama.
