   Exactly! That’s the problem I had with my trusty-old Smith-Corona typewriter. Couldn’t find a replacement-“belt”, so I just improvised with an-O-ring gasket of suitable-length. Worked, and still-works, like a charm! ☺

   I’ve heard/read that myself, as well. (Suddenly, that old-Garrard® turntable, covered an’ stuffed-away in storage, just might get resurrected for a few of my-own old-original vinyls..?) ☺

   Give “grand-junior” there another ten-years or so, an’ grandpa will be tellin’ him “Jody-calls”, a.k.a. cadence! No, not-PC…but-GREAT for motivation! ☺

   (I spread a dozen or so on my-Dad, when I got back-home in ‘71. His response? "Well, I hear they ain’t changed nuthin’ but the locations!" He was in the Corps at Tarawa. I was in-Corps as well, except ’twas Vietnam, of course.)

   Ahh, someone-else who knows how to “fix” it, too! (Flat-Black “magic-markers” with the broad-tip work well, too!) But no paint-markers: They tend to dissolve “some”-types of dash-face material!

   Had to be quick & “dedicated/concentrated” for sure. (Which in itself eliminates 99.99% of those you mention nowadays…and, YES, myself-included…!) ☺
