   Some years ago, I was in a mall. I had just made some purchases and decided to goof off. While working around, I started humming to the mall/elevator muzak playing overhead. I kept thinking – “I know this song”. The hamster wheel in my head stopped – The mall/elevator muzak was “Iron Man” by Black Sabbath

   I remember many years ago a musician / entertainer (I can’t remember who. The old gray matter ain’t what it once was.) was asked to classify his music. To which the musician / entertainer replied – “To classify music is futile. Music is music. Matters not if the music is from Beethoven or Hank Williams. Music is music.”

   Reading this strip often reminds me of two individuals that I like to refer to as “The Brain Trust”. These two would often discuss American History. Listening to these two would make your head explode. These two think that George Jefferson was either the first or second president. They also seem to forget that Independence Day (4th Of July) and Thanksgiving are American Holidays. They would often wonder if other nations celebrated Independence Day and Thanksgiving like “us Americans” or if “they exploded something else” or “ate something other than Turkey.”

   I remember one of the local McD franchises was having a special – “Shake Day”. So I stopped in for a shake. I was informed of the following – “Shake machine out of order. Special part had to be ordered. Unknown when shake machine would be working.”

   The sad thing is — How politicians, military leaders and CEO are Orwellian in naming horrible acts Collateral Damage = Civilian Casualities Right Sizing = Layoffs / Terminations Furloughs = Layoffs / Delayed Terminations Enhanced Interrogation = TortureI even heard some politician / military leader tried the following term Temporary Relocation/Detainment Center = Internment Camp / Labor Camp / Prison

   My brother and I would often beg our mom to let us stay home from school. One day – Mom said “If you go to school TODAY, you can stay home TOMORROW”. My brother and I started celebrating until .. we discovered that TODAY was Friday and TOMORROW was Saturday. Parents can be so cruel.

   I was in a store in September – On one aisle was Halloween items On the next aisle was Christmas items. A store associate informed me that the store started receiving Christmas items from the store warehouse in August per orders from corporate. The store manager tried to inform the powers that be that the store didn’t have room in the store storage since several shipments of Halloween items and fall/winter items had arrived in July!!!

    Some stores in my area were getting ready for Christmas in August!!!Why not combine all the holidays from October thru DecemberHappy Hallothanxmas Everybody!!!!Just think – Turkey stuffed with jelly bean dressing.Yummy!!!!
