   I’m assuming Evie was a widow too and still was willing to let love in a second time around when she married Arnold. She has a good head on her shoulders and will know how to get Val out of her funk. I’m glad she showed up.

   I don’t think so. Remember the very nice scene at the cemetery? Adopting them would give the girls his name and would give the effect of wiping out what’s left of the father. He could do his own little ceremony in lieu of a courtroom legality.
