   Until recently, (the last 100 years or so…) the common belief in most western cultures was that bathing was the cause of most diseases (the plague and such) and, therefore, was almost never done.

   As a child, I always searched each “Scholastic” magazine from my school for the next “Garfield” book. I’ve loved this strip for as long as I can remember.(Anyone remember Lyman?)Happy Birthday Garfield, and congratulations, Jim Davis!
